1. Put The Statue of Liberty at the top of your NYC Itinerary

Firstly, embark on your NYC adventure with a visit to the famed Statue of Liberty. This iconic symbol of American freedom is an absolute must-see, offering a unique perspective on the country’s history. Book a ferry ride to Ellis Island far in advance and enjoy the breathtaking views on your way to the statue.

Bucket List Trip Ideas: NYC

Visiting the Statue of Liberty depends on your time, other plans on your NYC itinerary, and planning energy. You can reserve a ticket to leave from New York. Be sure to do it far in advance; it’s a common misconception that you can just show up. Alternatively, locals suggest entering from New Jersey can be easier for ticketing, parking, and traffic. Or, for a free option, take the Staten Island ferry and catch a view while cruising past the statue.
