frugal-living-fitness-challenge-3Here we are on Day 3 of the money-saving fitness challenge, Enthusiasts!

Do you need a mellow workout today?

If you’re tired or stressed, this can give you the boost of energy you need.

I included a video with what is called restorative yoga.

It’s meant to quiet your nervous system.

In today’s video, the instructor gives an explanation of restorative yoga, it’s benefits, and the workout.

Money-Saving Workouts That Will Make You Want to Run to Work

This video is all of eight minutes long. In general, I’m shooting for 30 minute videos but I wanted to include this to show that sometimes you don’t need to spend a lot of time to get positive health benefits from a workout. If you want to do more, I included a link below the first video to check out a 5 minute beginner yoga workout.

You gotta love a Rodney Yee videos. I first sampled his workouts through a Free DVD from my public library. My back was hurting at the time and I wanted to seek out something providing stretches that would help me out. This was right after having some bad experiences with a few ripoff artists. . .ahem. . .chiropractors. I know there’s good ones but I hit my mental trial period limit.

We’ve all heard of the tremendous benefits that yoga has to offer, so I thought I’d give it a go. The blurb on the back of the DVD was convincing. I knew Rodney Yee was a credible instructor and knowing that most of the workout would happen in a chair sealed the deal. It was effective for me. For this reason, I picked an easy Yoga video for today.

If you haven’t exercised for some time or have health concerns, than you should check with your doctor before committing to any routine. I’m not an exercise expert but I am following the recommendations for myself on SuperTracker.usda.gov to get guidance. Think of this challenge as a sampler. It’s as if you’re “browsing” certain regimens to see what works for you.

These moves can be done in an office setting. All you need is a chair and a desk. Enjoy!

Here’s a five minute Rodney Yee video if you want to do a little more.
