Two days is enough in Charleston, SC if you just wanted to take in easily accesible spots in the downntown area. Charleston’s charms beckon travelers to visit. It is a city perfect for an invigorating getaway of two days—just enough time to take in the best sights, savor delightful cuisine, and explore nearby attractions!

If you really want to see The Cypress Gardens, Fort Sumter, The Angel Oak Tree and other spots that are 20 – 30 minutes outside of downtown, then you might want to stay longer.

How do I spend a day in downtown Charleston?

If you’re looking for an awesome day in downtown Charleston, here’s what to do: explore the shopping and restaurants area of King Street. Take a ride on one of the carriage tours so you can experience all that historic charm. Afterwards, enjoy some frozen treats at an ice cream parlor – yum! Don’t forget to capture it all with lots of photos.

Walk to Battery Park up along the water. There are beautiful houses – pastel colors. You’ll pass what’s called Rainbow Row. It’s just a strip of houses painted in different vibrant colors. There are all sorts of restaurants in this area.

Have you ever wondered why pineapples appear everywhere in Charleston, SC? Well, it turns out that the pineapple has been a symbol of hospitality for centuries.

In Colonial times people would place sliced pineapples on their gates or doorsteps to let guests know they were welcome and had nothing but good cheer waiting inside!
