1. Discovering Rockport, Massachusetts
Begin your journey in charming Rockport, where you can stroll along Bearskin Neck, known for its quaint shops and picturesque harbor views. Also, be sure to explore the art galleries and savor the fresh seafood at local eateries. Check to see what’s open after Labor Day.
2. Exploring Boston, Massachusetts can be a bucket list of adventures all it’s own
Next, head to bustling Boston. Visit the Freedom Trail to immerse yourself in American history, then sample local cuisine at Quincy Market or catch a Red Sox game at Fenway Park. In addition, don’t forget to stroll along the scenic Charles River Esplanade for a relaxing break.

3. Roaming Burlington, Vermont
Travel to Burlington for a taste of Vermont’s charm. Explore the Church Street Marketplace’s shops and cafes. Then, consider taking a sunset cruise on Lake Champlain. There are many other fun things to do in Burlington, VT such as visiting the ECHO Leahy Center, kayaking on the water and ride on the Burlington Bike Path.
4. Visit Rhode Island: Newport and Providence
Discover Newport’s Gilded Age mansions and Cliff Walk in New port, RI. Also, explore Fort Adams State Park or relax on Easton’s Beach and watching sailboats in the harbor. Then, you can even rent mini cars and drive them around town. This is one of the best bucket list things to do in the area.
Also, explore the vibrant city of Providence. Check out WaterFire, a captivating art installation. Also, for a double dose of art, be sure to head over to the RISD Museum. Then go for a boat ride on the river and end your journey at Plant City. It’s an excellent spot for vegan cuisine or just a smoothie. If you’re thinking twice, remember Providence, RI is definitely worth a visit!

6. Stop by CT: Madison and Mystic
If you’re hoping to visit as many New England states as you can in one shot, consider making a stop in Mystic, CT, Madison, CT or BOTH! Located between Rhode Island and Massachusetts, Mystic offers a charming blend of maritime history and modern attractions. Watch the drawbridge rise while indulging in ice cream and observing boats passing by.
There are many other places to visit, but Madison is one of my favorite places to visit in CT. It’s a charming coastal town with beautiful beaches and boutiques, and great local dining spots. It’s not overwhelming and has a lowkey vibe, but still exciting.

7. Exploring Portsmouth, New Hampshire
Venture to Portsmouth and wander through its historic streets. Visit the Strawberry Banke Museum, stop by many amazing stores and walk around the town. Also, check out the Black Heritage Trail. Then, enjoy a seafood dinner along the waterfront. In my opinion, no trip is complete without getting a popover.
8. Shopping in Kittery, Maine
Be sure to stop in Kittery, Maine where you can shop at the Kittery Outlets for deals on designer brands. Also, browse through stores to savoring a lobster roll at a local seafood shack. Whether you get lunch or just walk around, it’s a fun place to stop and it’s closeby to Portsmouth, New Hampshire.
